About This Experience

This Viator listing from Visita Teotihuacan Mexico holds a 4.9 rating from 2,849 reviews and has two options. On dates we checked in late October 2026 the flight only cost about $154 per person, and the all-inclusive package cost about $231. The flight-only option lasts about 2 hours from arrival and includes a cookie-and-coffee break, a flight certificate and a sparkling-wine toast. The package runs about 7 hours and adds round-trip transport from Mexico City, a cave breakfast and 1.5 hours free at the pyramids, plus an explanation of the region and a liquor tasting.

The listing is more specific about the meal than most. The package breakfast is described as seasonal water, fruit, coffee, artisan bread, and chilaquiles with chicken, steak or egg, or an omelet, with vegan options available. If you pick the flight-only fare you must reach the operator’s offices in Teotihuacán yourself; you can find them on Google as Gran Vuelo Teotihuacan, and the details are sent the day before. The operator says it has a wide pickup area in Mexico City and asks you to write if your location does not appear.

Choose the $154 fare if you have a car and want your own plans after landing. Choose the $231 package if you are staying in Mexico City and want the breakfast and a set block of ruins time. Reviewers like the Airbnb and hotel pickup and the friendly staff, but one 4-star reviewer found a basket crowded with five people on a side, and another said the balloon does not actually fly over the pyramids. A reviewer also suggests a hat or jacket for the cave breakfast.

Entrance fees, a professional photo and video package and any weight surcharge are not included; the operator charges MX$35 per extra kilo above 100 kg (under $2). The operator says it holds the AFAC documentation it needs and that its pilots have more than 15 years of experience, which are its own statements. The flight is weather-dependent and the pyramids cannot be promised from the air.

Wow! I can’t say enough amazing things about this tour. We had absolutely the best time. The ballon ride was breathtaking. I don’t love heights and I felt so safe. Flying over the pyramids during sunset is a once in a lifetime experience. The breakfast in the cave was cool. And the tour of the pyramids was 10/10. I cou

Fabulous, fun and a well organised trip, easy pick up, with additional options. Our early start with an early sunrise was super, although consider a hat or jacket if having the cave breakfast

— Maxine U, Oct 2026

Awesome day doing hot air balloons over the pyramids and plenty of time to explore the pyramids themselves. Getting transport from the hotel was helpful and guides were awesome, but it would be better if the guides went with us into the pyramids and could explain how they were formed.
