About This Experience
This Viator listing from Tlatoani tours holds a 4.9 rating from 7,663 reviews and offers three options. On dates we checked in late October 2026 the flight alone cost about $157 per person, flight plus cave breakfast without transport cost about $201, and the all-inclusive package with Mexico City round-trip transport cost about $240. The operator says it is the number one agency in Mexico and a Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice winner; those are its own claims, and the review count is the evidence we weight.
The flight-only option gives you the balloon port location and leaves transport to you. The middle option adds breakfast in a natural cave that the operator calls the Ancestral Cave, still without a ride. The all-inclusive option adds hotel pickup and return and time at the archaeological zone, which the listing gives as 1.5 hours in one place and up to 2 hours in another. Total duration runs from 4 to 7 hours depending on the option, and guiding is offered in English, Spanish and French.
Choose the $157 fare if you have a car. Choose the $201 option if you are staying near San Martín de las Pirámides and want the breakfast without arranging a transfer. Choose the $240 package if you are in Mexico City and want the whole morning handled; recent reviewers praise prompt pickup and drop-off, though one wanted more commentary about the pyramids on the bus and did not care for the culture stop.
The weight rule is stated in pesos: MX$500 (about $27) for 100 to 120 kg, and MX$1,000 (about $54) for 120 to 140 kg. Admission fees and tips are not included. The pilot may ask some passengers to move to the other side of the basket to balance the load, and the listing does not recommend the flight for people with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, prostheses of any type or trouble standing. The schedule we read runs to late March 2027, so later dates may be priced differently.

What Travelers Say
Rated 4.9/5 by 7,663 verified Viator travelers.
Beautiful morning sailing over the pyramids of Teotihucan. Nice breakfast in a cool cave venue. I thought there could have been some information about the pyramids provided on the bus. Didn't care for the "culture stop" which was a glorified gift shop. Early morning pick up was necessary but loud rock music in the bus was not appreciated. Still we loved the balloon experience.

Once in a life time experience, unless you love the adventure. 100% worth it, the view is everything!

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Tlatoani tours option should I book?
The $157 flight-only fare suits drivers, the $201 flight plus cave breakfast suits people staying near the port, and the $240 all-inclusive package suits anyone in Mexico City who wants pickup, breakfast and ruins time included. Prices are from dates we checked in late October 2026.
Is breakfast included?
Yes on the $201 and $240 options, served in a natural cave. It is not part of the $157 flight-only fare.
What if the weather cancels the flight?
The pilot decides whether the balloon launches. The listing carries Viator’s standard terms of a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start; ask the operator what it offers if the flight is called off on the day.
What is the weight limit?
Between 100 and 120 kg the operator charges MX$500 (about $27), and from 120 to 140 kg MX$1,000 (about $54). The listing does not say what happens above 140 kg, so contact the operator before booking.
Can I visit the pyramids on this tour?
On the all-inclusive option, yes: the listing allows 1.5 hours at the archaeological zone in one line and up to 2 hours in another. Admission is not included, so budget MX$210 (about $11) for entry.
