About This Experience

This Viator listing from Teotihuacan Adventures holds a 4.9 rating from 2,678 reviews and has two options. On dates we checked in late October 2026 the balloon flight only cost about $148 per person, and the all-inclusive package cost about $228. The flight-only option says you arrive and leave by your own means and get the balloon flight and a coffee break, with the appointment at the operator’s balloon port. The package adds breakfast in a natural cave, round-trip transport with pickup and time to visit the archaeological zone, for about 6 hours in all. The listing is offered in English, Spanish and French.

The listing gives no flight length, so assume the usual 30 to 60 minutes. The operator sends the location of its offices the day before. One September 2026 reviewer was picked up at 4:00 a.m. by a driver who kept the group informed, another praised a photographer at the end, and a third advised bringing snacks, water and warm clothes for a cold start. Choose the $148 fare if you can drive to the balloon port and want to arrange your own afterwards. Choose the $228 package if you are staying in Mexico City and would rather have pickup, breakfast and ruins time handled. The $80 gap is smaller than on some rivals.

Read the weight rules before you book. The operator charges MX$500 (about $27) above 100 kg and up to 120 kg, MX$1,000 (about $54) above 120 kg, and MX$1,500 (about $80) above 140 kg. Entrance to the archaeological zone is excluded, and the listing prices it at 14 USD, higher than INAH’s MX$210 (about $11), so expect to pay the INAH figure. Tips are not included.

What Travelers Say

Rated 4.9/5 by 2,678 verified Viator travelers.

This was an absolutely incredible experience. Watching the sunrise over the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon was truly breathtaking. It was my first time in a hot air balloon, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. It was quite cold early in the morning, so I’d definitely recommend dr

An out of this world experience. I would advise bringing some snacks on your tour as you may get a bit snackish, and water as well. The trip was a once in a lifetime experience. Be sure to prepare for freezing weather at that hour of the morning and the burning on your back when in the air balloon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Teotihuacan Adventures option should I book?

The $148 flight-only fare suits drivers, while the $228 all-inclusive package suits anyone in Mexico City who wants pickup, cave breakfast and ruins time. Prices are from dates we checked in late October 2026.

Is breakfast included?

Only in the all-inclusive package, served in a natural cave. The flight-only option includes the balloon flight and a coffee break.

What if the weather cancels the flight?

The pilot decides whether the balloon launches. The listing carries Viator’s standard free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start, and we did not find the operator’s call-off terms, so ask before you pay.

What is the weight limit?

The operator charges MX$500 (about $27) from 100 to 120 kg, MX$1,000 (about $54) above 120 kg and MX$1,500 (about $80) above 140 kg. The listing does not state a hard maximum.

Can I visit the pyramids?

The all-inclusive package includes time to visit the archaeological zone, though the listing does not say how long. Entrance is not included, so budget MX$210 (about $11).
